Quorum Productions' Hit Television Show Designing
Spaces "Holiday Edition" Will Be Featuring Identity Theft and Fraud Prevention
with Washington Mutual
Deerfield Beach, FL- The holidays are, not surprisingly,
the busiest time of the year for people to use their credit and debit
cards. It's also the busiest time of the
year for thieves who are intent on stealing your credit card information or, in
the worst-case scenario, your identity.
There are, however, a variety of easy steps that consumers can take to
help protect themselves. In an upcoming "Holiday Edition", the hit Quorum
Productions television program Designing Spaces will take a look at
these self-protection measures with Robert Boxberger, SVP-Fraud & Finance
Washington Mutual (WaMu®).
"While
it's nearly impossible to completely stop ‘bad guys' from committing fraud and
identity theft, there are actions that every consumer can and should take to
protect themselves," says Robert
Boxberger of WaMu®. "Consumers need to carefully monitor statements and react
quickly to dispute charges. Also, it is safer using credit or debit cards
because all your bank information, address and phone number appear on checks.
"WaMu
is one of the largest banks in America, and one of the most aggressive in
trying to stop fraud," continues Boxberger.
"In terms of credit card fraud, WaMu has the lowest fraud rates in the
industry. WaMu is also the only bank
that gives its customers free access to their FICO credit score - which is a
good way to be able to see if someone has stolen your identity."
