D’Angelo’s Yappy-Hour Strives to “Double the Donation” to Rescue Rehab Home 501(c)3
Boca Raton, FL -
Many of us consider our dogs to be members of our family. In many ways, they
are. We form special bonds with dogs that few other animals share. Over the
past years, there has been an overall trend of increased dog standings’,
partially due to the increase in animals impacted by direct and indirect human
activities.
Rescue Rehab
Homes of Boca Raton, whose motto is “Saving one dog at a time”, prides itself
on providing emotional and social rehabilitation, medical care, and shelter
with a goal of finding “forever homes” for every dog. Of course, in the last
three years of rescue, they have learned that it isn’t that simple.
Cucina D’Angelo
of Boca Raton the premiere destination for fun and safe doggy dining with other
event sponsors come together for their monthly charity event Yappy-Hour hoping
to “Double the Donation” made at last months event which raised $1000.
Rescue Rehab
Home is completely funded by animal rescue donations from private individuals
and companies. “Without your generous help, we would not be able to provide
food, shelter & medical care for these wonderful animals.” Says Jamie Wolf
who founded Rescue Rehab Home in 2005. “Many of the animals in our care
have or will require surgery, emergency veterinary care, special medications or
diets, or some other treatment over & above the normal to save their life
and/or to make them healthy & keep them that way. Your donations make
it possible for Rescue Rehab Home to provide this extra care.”
Yappy-Hour’s
mission is to provide a fun and safe environment where people can incorporate
their dogs into their social activities and promote the awareness of dogs in
need of our help. Rescue Rehab Home has had over four successful Yappy-Hour
events and wants this one to be the best of all time and “Double the
Donation”. Rescue Rehab
Home has continuously gone above and beyond the call of duty for our furry
friends. Many dogs were left behind on rooftops and deserted streets of New Orleans after
Hurricane Katrina, and were most likely homeless before the hurricane. Rescue
Rehab Home was the first rescue group to go up the Gulf coast and take in
Hurricane Katrina dogs.
“Rescue Rehab
Home is completely funded by animal rescue donations from private individuals
and companies.” Says Jamie Wolf. “The on-going support we have received
so far has been amazing.”
Yappy-Hour will
include a lavish interactive dog area to show our furry friends how much we
care. “Our goal with our dog massages is to relieve any physical pain helping
dogs recover after surgery, helps dogs do better in agility, also helping them through
different ailments such as Arthritis, hip dyspasia, and old age.” Says Hope LaMonica of Florida Dog Massages who will be
extending her services to the dogs in attendance. “Every massage is
catered to your dog’s needs and well being. Whether a toy breed or a large
breed, young or old,” she continues. CinemaDOGrapher
Charles Dasher will be playing his DOGumentary movie “Tales of Tails”, showing
the closeness many dogs share with their owner. “This DOGumentary capture
memories of your best friend that you can keep forever,” says Dasher. Also in attendance will be Carla
Genender; she will be signing copies of her book, DogSense: 99 relationship
tips from your canine companion. DogSense contains photos of 99
dogs; each one gives a human relationship tip and is accompanied by a short
'bio' written from the perspective of the dog. It is a finalist for ForeWord magazine’s
book of the year awards. “The premise of the book is that humans can have
better relationships with each other by being more like our dogs.” says Carla
Genender. This Yappy Hour event is not only
a mingling social event with canines and their owners but a chance to raise
money for an organization who willingly and freely gives all of their time and
efforts for a cause that is in great need in our society. Cucina D’Angelo looks
forward to making this event into a success by being able to “Double the Donation” for Rescue Rehab
Homeand go beyond the call of duty,
of which they have done for our dogs in so many ways.
